Celestial - Meditations - cover edited-1

Celestial Meditations

Sri Shanthi Bhavana created the original “CELESTIAL” album – his very first CD album – in 2003.

Since then it has been a highly popular album for many people, globally – and a highly successful one, selling consistently over that time.

“Celestial" was never intended as a “meditation” album, more a relaxation ‘concept’ album – an aural experience, a ‘cosmic voyage’ – offering (hopefully) a contemplation on our existence in the greater Cosmos.

In 2020,17-years later, in re-visiting this first album, Shanthi has created a companion album, “Celestial Meditations” (his 23rd album) that, as a music soundscape – with its roots grounded in the original sound design for “Celestial” cosmic voyage – has its intention firmly focused on deeper, meditative contemplation, and spiritual connection.

Notes About “Celestial Meditations”                                  "Celestial Meditations" – Deeply resonant sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls, Bells, Meditative Resonant Drones, Harmonium, Synth, Voice, Wind and Breath. As with a lot of Shanthi’s soundscapes that are intended for use as preparation for deep meditation, “Celestial Meditations” utilises resonant vibratory frequencies to create sympathetic ‘entraining’ with the brain, vital organs and the Chakra subtle anatomy.

“Celestial Meditations” is a companion to the original “Celestial” CD – complementary and, at the same time, a music and aural soundscape art piece that stands on its own. It is an aural exploration into the Mind, and an aid in manifesting tranquility and spiritual connection and “oneness".

5 tracks make up the “Celestial Meditations” collection – each track is        20-minutes, and the album is 100-minutes in total duration:

1.     “The Outer Journey”

2.     “The Inner Journey”

3.     “Going Deeper”

4.     “Cosmic Wind”

5.     “Surrender”

Singing Bowl 5658-2 flattened-2 finished Art-2 edited-1

Singing Bowl Meditations - Vol. 1

“Singing Bowl Meditations - Vol. 1”

Sri Shanthi Bhavana has created a series of Tibetan Singing Bowl tracks that can be used as preparation for meditation, or to accompany meditation practice.

The deeply resonant sounds of Tibetan Singing Bowls capture the vibratory frequencies* that can assist in creating sympathetic ‘entraining’ with the brain, vital organs and the Chakra subtle anatomy. Simple, minimalist, authentic ritual bowl sounds for meditation practice.                                       [* please see specific frequencies information below]

Each individual track is designed as an aural exploration into Mind/Body connection, and an aid in developing and manifesting inner peace, tranquillity, spiritual connection and “oneness".

An energising and relaxing collection of rubbed and struck bowls in various tone centres corresponding with the major Chakra energy plexuses of the subtle anatomy, to help stimulate energy release and spiritual transformation.

“We are slowed-down sound and light waves, a walking bundle of frequencies tuned into the cosmos. We are souls dressed up in sacred biochemical garments and our bodies are the instruments through which our souls play their music”   – Albert Einstein

"Everything in life is vibration. Health is the state of perfect oneness with the cosmic vibration. Illness is the result of dichotomy. When we are able to tune ourselves to the natural, universal vibrations, health occurs.

We can think of health as a certain ‘state’ of cosmic vibration.

When we are 'in tune' with that, and we are vibrating with it, we are truly happy and healthy”  - Yogacharya Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani

Use these Singing Bowl Meditations to gently prepare for deeper meditation practice. A bowl hit occurs frequently (for many tracks this is every 30-seconds), as a mindfulness aid for the practitioner to help them to stay focused.

14 tracks make up the “Singing Bowl Meditations - Vol. 1” collection – each track is 9-minutes in duration, and the total duration is 126-minutes.

Zen Rainforest Retreat Artwork 01 Low Res

Zen Rainforest Retreat

“Zen Rainforest Retreat”

In 2008, Sri Shanthi Bhavana (under the artist name, Shantha Sri), produced “Breath of the Rainforest” – an album that has become very popular and is to date the highest downloaded album of his collective works.

In a similar genre, Sri Shanthi Bhavana has created “Zen Rainforest Retreat”, revisiting this relaxing theme, and capturing the timeless sounds and feel of a ‘silent’ rainforest retreat, enhanced by the natural sounds of such a peaceful environment.  It can be used as preparation for meditation, or to accompany meditation practice, as well as just ‘chilling-out’ and relaxing to Zen sounds.

Notes About “Zen Rainforest Retreat”

Zen Rainforest Retreat captures the atmospheric sounds of the      deep rainforest environment - Healing Sounds Designed for Rest and Rejuvenation

Sri Shanthi Bhavana uses Asian musical instruments and Oriental-themed musical phrases to bring color and authentic Asian tonality to each track: Indonesian (Javanese and Balinese) Gamelan, Thai Bamboo Wind Chimes, Chinese Dizi and Thai Bamboo Flutes, Chinese Strings and Gongs, and Japanese Taiko Drums, as well as Piano and atmospheric recordings in rainforest nature, including natural birdsong, wind, rain and a thunderstorm!

Use these subtle Zen sounds and specially-created music soundscapes for quiet contemplation of Self, and one’s own place and purpose in the greater natural environment – as a personal meditation, or a quiet contemplation on nature – to focus on life within and out. Through these sounds, relax, unwind, and re-connect to nature, to find true inner purpose (Dharma), to immerse, to seek and find contentment and peace.

Each individual track is designed as an aural exploration into Mind/Body connection with the natural environment of a deep rainforest, and can be used as an aid to Zen Meditation, and in developing and manifesting inner peace, tranquillity, spiritual connection and “oneness” - bringing spiritual transformation.

Please Note: It is recommended that headphones or earbuds be used when listening to this album, in order to achieve the highest sound quality and enjoy the subtle tonal fidelity of the natural environment.

9 tracks make up the “Zen Rainforest Retreat” collection – each track is      9-minutes in duration, and the total duration is 81-minutes:

Zen Mountain Retreat flattened finished artwork edited-1

Zen Mountain Retreat

“Zen Mountain Retreat”

Sri Shanthi Bhavana produced “Breath of the Rainforest” and “Zen Mountain Retreat” – albums that celebrate nature and our intrinsic interconnection with nature and all things.

In “Zen Mountain Retreat”, Sri Shanthi Bhavana has created a relaxing theme, capturing the timeless sounds and feel of a ‘silent’ pristine mountain environment – a 'mountain retreat', enhanced by the natural sounds of such a peaceful environment. It can be used as preparation for meditation, or to accompany meditation practice, as well as just ‘chilling-out’ and relaxing to Zen sounds.

Notes About “Zen Mountain Retreat”

Zen Mountain Retreat captures the atmospheric sounds of the    pristine mountainous environments of Asia

An authentic Asian soundscape bringing aural connection of Mind/Body/Spirit with the natural environment of mountains. Helps develop spiritual transformation and manifest relaxation, inner peace, tranquillity, spiritual connection –  “oneness".

Sri Shanthi Bhavana uses Asian musical instruments and Oriental-themed musical phrases to bring color and authentic Asian tonality to each track: Tibetan Rag Dung Horn, Tibetan and Nepalese Singing Bowls, Goat Herd atmosphere and Goat Bells, Chinese Dizi and Hulusi Flutes, and Chinese Ling Dang (small Goat Bells), Tibetan Sacred Buddhist Prayer Bells (drilbu), as well as the chanting of sacred mantras.

The deeply spiritual aspects of the Asian Mountains:  the Himalayas, and the Chinese, Vietnamese and Thai Mountains  that embody Buddhist, Tao, Zen, Hindu and other dharma philosophies – are reflected in these musical soundscapes.

Use these subtle Zen sounds and specially-created music soundscapes for quiet contemplation of Self, and one’s own place and purpose in the greater and dynamic natural environment – as a personal meditation, or a quiet contemplation on nature – to focus on life, within and out. Through these sounds, relax, unwind, and re-connect to nature, to find true inner purpose (Dharma), to immerse, to seek and find contentment and peace.

Each individual track is designed as an aural exploration into Mind/Body connection with the natural environment of mountains, and can be used as an aid to Zen Meditation, and in developing and manifesting inner peace, tranquillity, spiritual connection and “oneness” – bringing spiritual transformation.

Please Note: It is recommended that headphones or earbuds be used when listening to this album, in order to achieve the highest sound quality and enjoy the subtle tonal fidelity of the natural environment.

Zen Ambient Meditation

The intention of these tracks is as a mindful contemplation, or focusing tool - to help bring the mind to a one-pointed focus, through breath-centred concentration on the sound, and letting everything else go. Just surrendering to the moment, and to the sound. Gradually, the sounds can be used less and less, until the mind ‘replays’ these sounds whenever we need to use them, and eventually that too disappears - leaving blissful silence. This practice is called, Nada Yoga Meditation.

Prana Restorative Pranayama

Prana Retention Practice_01_20-mins

Breath Ratio Practice for Developing Prana Retention

This breath ratio practice is intended for use as a guided breath exercise, to help increase the exhale breath, and retention after exhale. Practice by breathing through the nose (both Inhale and Exhale), and keep the breath low and soft and subtle… inaudibly breathing (no sound). It begins at a gentle count of 3:3:4:4 (seconds), and gently increases to 4:4:6:6 count, with a little bell to mark to the beginning of every ratio increase.

Breath Count in Seconds:

3 : 3 : 4 : 4    6 Rounds (In: 3 sec / Pause: 3 sec / Ex: 4 sec / Pause: 4 sec)

3 : 3 : 4 : 5    6 Rounds

3 : 3 : 5 : 5    6 Rounds

3 : 4 : 5 : 5    6 Rounds

4 : 4 : 5 : 5    6 Rounds

4 : 4 : 5 : 6    6 Rounds

4 : 4 : 6 : 6    28 Rounds

Minimal Inhale breath (Puraka / Antara), with Retention after Inhale (Puraka / Antara Kumbhaka), and gradually, incrementally extending the Exhale breath (Recaka / Bahya), and the Suspension after Exhale (Recaka / Bahya Kumbhaka). Expand the breath into the abdomen and lungs, while keeping the chest passive, and the breath slow, subtle, low and soft.

The intention (Bhavana) is to help a person to progressively move towards slightly longer Exhales, and Exhale Suspension, or light holds.
